Is the Chrome extension free?

The extension is free to install and use. Numbers are paid for with credits from your smsverification.app account, at exactly the same prices as the website. There is no subscription and no extension surcharge.

Do I need a separate account for the extension?

No. It uses the same account as the website. If you are already signed in at smsverification.app in the same browser, the extension picks up that session automatically, and signing in from the extension also signs you in on the website.

Does it keep checking for codes when the popup is closed?

Yes. A background service worker keeps polling your active orders, so you can close the popup and carry on browsing. When a code arrives you get a desktop notification with a copy button, plus a counter badge on the toolbar icon.

What permissions does it request, and why?

Four: alarms for the background polling timer, storage for your language, theme and local order list, notifications for the code alert, and offscreen for writing to the clipboard. Its only host permission is smsverification.app, so it cannot read the pages you browse.

Why does Chrome warn me that it is not trusted?

Enhanced Safe Browsing shows that warning for any recently published extension that has not built up a track record in the Chrome Web Store yet. It reflects publishing history rather than a scan of the code, and users on the default Standard protection do not see it.

Which browsers does it work in?

Chrome and any Chromium-based browser with Manifest V3 support, including Edge, Brave and Arc. It is not available for Safari or Firefox.
